Coriandum sativum
The ancient Egyptians used it for headaches. In 17th Century it was used to dispel wind. Today the dried seed is used as a flavouring agent and spice in curries and pickled vegetables.

Extraction: Coriander essential oil is steam distilled from the seeds of Coriandum sativum.
Aroma: Coriander essential oil has a sweet, spicy and stimulating scent.
Fragrance note: Middle.
Properties: Coriander essential oil is soothing and is often used in massage to relieve aching muscles. It is also toning, refreshing and may stimulate digestion.
Uses: Massage, baths, vaporization and may be added to a base emollient.
Blends well with: Bergamot, Cinnamon, Clary Sage, Ginger, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Lemon and Neroli.
Caution: Coriander essential oil is slightly toxic and must be used sparingly.
